Velden & Marsh has six people and acts for owner-run companies in four areas of law. We stay small so that the person you first speak to is the person who does your work.

How we started

Eleanor Velden and Samuel Marsh set up the firm in Bath in 2014. Both had trained at larger firms, where owner-run companies were often passed to the most junior person available, with an hourly bill nobody could predict. They wanted a firm where the client knew who was on the matter, what it would cost and what came next.

Amara Osei joined as a partner in 2019 to lead employment. Thomas Reid joined in 2021 for property. Hana Sato trained with us and qualified in 2019. Daniel Price is our trainee and expects to qualify in 2027.

How we work

One named solicitor

Your engagement letter names the person running your matter. That person takes your calls.

The fee in writing

Fixed fees wherever the work can be scoped, and a written estimate where it cannot. Nothing is charged that was not agreed.

A dated record

Every matter has a record of its steps with dates, so you can see what has happened and what comes next.
