Thomas Reid

Thomas handles commercial property for businesses that rent or own the premises they work from: new leases, renewals, assignments, licences to alter, and the purchase of a freehold when a company decides to stop paying rent. He reads a lease first for the three things that tend to cost tenants money later: the repairing obligations, the service charge, and how and when the rent can be reviewed. On a renewal he keeps the statutory timetable under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 in the matter record from day one, so a missed deadline is never the reason a negotiation is lost. Thomas qualified in 2016 at a regional firm in Cardiff and joined Velden & Marsh in 2021. He grew up in Swansea and deals with Welsh-speaking landlords and agents in Welsh.
