Amara Osei

Amara leads the employment practice and acts only for employers. Her clients are owner-run companies with between five and 150 staff, usually without an HR department, so she is often the first call when a manager has a difficult conversation coming up. She advises on contracts and handbooks, disciplinary and grievance processes, redundancies, settlement agreements and, when it comes to it, employment tribunal claims. She would rather spend an hour helping you run a fair process than a month defending one that was not. Amara qualified in 2011 and spent eight years at the Bristol office of a national firm before joining Velden & Marsh as a partner in 2019. She led the unfair dismissal matter shown on our home page, which settled two weeks before the hearing. She writes most of the firm’s notes on changes to employment law, and works with Hana Sato on every larger matter.
