About Samuel Marsh
Samuel runs the disputes practice. Most of his work is for companies that are owed money or are arguing about whether a contract was performed: unpaid invoices, defective work, a supplier who stopped delivering. He trained and qualified at a litigation firm in London, then moved to Bath in 2014 to set up Velden & Marsh with Eleanor Velden. His first question on any dispute is what a realistic result is worth to you after costs, and he puts that figure in writing before anything is issued. Many of his matters settle after a well-prepared letter before claim. The rest go to the County Court or, for larger claims, the Business and Property Courts in Bristol. He supervises Daniel Price, the firm’s trainee, and is the partner responsible for the firm’s complaints procedure. He speaks German, learned during two years acting for a group of manufacturers based in Stuttgart.
